Mary Beth (Binger) Hatcher, 95, passed away peacefully at Budd Terrace Wesley Woods on May 14, 2017. Mary Beth was born Feb 11, 1922 at her grandparents' home in Mitchell Indiana, the only living child of Howard Edward Binger and Grace Fern (Shryer) Binger. Maternal grandparents were Omar Alan Shryer and Mary Elizabeth (Naugle) Shryer, and her paternal great-grandparents were W. George and Ellie Cheek. Mary Beth attended Bedford, Indiana schools, graduating from Bedford HS in 1939. There she met her beloved husband of 60 years, Henry Maurice Hatcher Jr, who predeceased her in 2001. After the war ended the Hatchers settled in Decatur and then Sandy Springs, Georgia. She used to say that she met her future husband at a "circle dance" and has been "going in circles ever since". Mary Beth was a kind and loving person who "never met a stranger". Many considered Mary Beth a second mother due to her caring nature. She was devoted to her family, church and the Atlanta community. She was a founding member of St. John United Methodist Church and active in many church and local community organizations. Mary Beth loved flowers and was an avid gardener. A lifelong member of Wieuca Garden Club, she was a talented horticulturist and flower arranger, winning several state garden show trophies. She is survived by her five children Henry Maurice Hatcher III of Lake Mary FL, Alan Barry Hatcher of Lilburn GA, Jerry Binger Hatcher of Alpharetta GA, Meridith Hatcher McDowell of Barnstable MA and Maureen Hatcher Conte of Falmouth MA. Also surviving are the spouses of her children, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, May 19,2017 from 6 to 8 o'clock at H. M. Patterson and Son Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd N. E., Sandy Springs GA 30328. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 11 o'clock at St. John United Methodist Church, 550 Mt.
